David Nikolic is in his first season as head coach for the Chicago Red Eleven as well as Director of Operations. Nikolic is currently in his seventh season as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women’s soccer associate head coach.

Having spent the last nine seasons as an assistant coach for the women, Nikolic has helped coached the Panthers to six NCAA Tournament berths, 10 regular season league championships and five league tournament titles. In 2005 and 2006, the team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first times in school history. In 2008, the Panthers finished the season ranked No. 24 in the nation after their fifth NCAA Tournament trip in eight years.

Nikolic is a USSF ‘B’ licensed coach and is a Region II Olympic Development Program staff coach. He has coached with the Wisconsin girls ODP program for 13 years. In 1999, 2001 and 2003 Nikolic’s teams have been Region II ODP finalists. He had also coached Region II Girls 1992 ODP team and the F.C. Milwaukee’s adult program. In 2002, his Under-23 men’s team won the regional championship and finished third in the nation. Nikolic has also been a staff coach for the Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club, where he led three teams to third-place finishes at the Region II Midwest Championships. He has also been coach of the Milwaukee Kickers Majors men’s team, which won the Wisconsin Open Cup in 2004, the regular season title in 2005 and the 2006 Wisconsin Amateur Championships.

In addition to his collegiate and club coaching career, Nikolic has also coached at the high school level. He coached at Wauwatosa East High School before moving to Milwaukee Pius XI, where he led the Lady Popes to an undefeated season, a state championship and a No. 16 national ranking.


Greg Muhr, Assistant Coachgmuhr@hotmail.com, 773-331-1678

Greg Muhr is in his first season as assistant W-League coach for the Chicago Red Eleven. Muhr is currently a staff coach for the Chicago Fire Juniors.

He was the director of the Barrington Area Soccer Association and coached for the Sockers prior to joining the Fire Juniors this season. He worked with club teams from ages nine to 19, including a European tour for the Under-19 boys and girls programs.

A graduate of Eastern Illinois University where he played four seasons, Muhr graduated with a psychology degree. Muhr was named an assistant coach at Depaul University in 2004 and coached for two seasons. Muhr was the co-head coach of the Chicago Cobras W-League team for five seasons, earning W-League "Coach of the Year" honors and a W-League Championship during his tenure with the Cobras. He also served one season as head coach of the Colorado Force of the W-League.

Along with his coaching experience, Muhr has played professionally for the Chicago Power of the NPSL (1992-96). Prior to that, he was drafted in the first round of the MSL draft (third overall) by the St. Louis Storm, where he played from 1990-92. From 1989-90, he was a member of the Chicago Power’s ASIA team. Muhr was a member of the USISL D-3 Chicago Stingers from 1997-00.


Robyn Serge, Assistant Coach, Player Registrarrobyn@chicagoredeleven.com

Robyn Serge is in her second season as an assistant coach for the Chicago Red Eleven. Serge is also in charge of player registrar.

Serge is currently the head coach of the women’s soccer team at Benedictine University. She was named head coach in 2006 after serving as head coach at Rockford College and Beloit College (Wis.). Under Serge, the BU Eagles have improved their won-lost records and have had numerous all-conference players, as well as two ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America awards.

After graduating from Rockford College with her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and physical science Serge received her Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in secondary science education. During that time, Serge played semi-professional soccer for the United Systems Independent Women’s Soccer League for three years.

Serge’s first head coaching position was at Beliot College while teaching high school biology and anatomy physiology in the Rockford Public School District. After two successful years at Beliot, Serge took over as head women’s soccer coach at Rockford College. She also was an academic advisor for incoming athletes as well as an assistant professor in the physical education department, teaching biomechanics.

Currently Serge serves on the board of Chicago’s Women’s Sports Foundation “Go Girl Go!” Chicago’s Women’s Sports Foundation is a charitable, educational organization dedicated to promoting girls and women in sports and fitness.

Serge is also a chaperone for USADA (United States Anti Doping Agency), which is responsible for managing both in and out-of-competition testing for athletes in the U.S. Olympic Movement including Olympic, Pan American, and Paralympics athletes.

Serge is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association and holds her National Diploma.


Dave MadsenGoalkeeper Coach: davemadsen007@hotmail.com 

Dave Madsen is in his first year as the Chicago Red Eleven W-League goalkeeper coach. Madsen is currently in his fourth season as the head coach of the Lakeland College men’s and women’s soccer team. In Madsen’s first year with the Muskies, he led the women’s team to a fifth place finish in the Northern Athletics Conference with a record of 7-3-1. In 2008, the men’s team posted their first winning overall record since 1994.

Madsen’s was a four-year starter and a standout goalkeeper for University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He helped led the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999, 2001 and 2002. In 2002, Madsen was an All-Region performer.

After graduating in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in business, Madsen became an assistant coach at UW-Whitewater for the men’s and women’s soccer programs for three years. While coaching he earned his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction in 2005.

Madsen is currently playing with the Milwaukee Kickers Majors team. He is a member of the NSCAA and currently holds his National “C” License from the USSF.
